THE BEST TIME TO SEE LAVENDER IN BLOOM

The lavender season in Provence starts in late June and lasts until early August, typically reaching full bloom in mid-July. But altitude influences this schedule: the lavender fields on the Valensole Plateau bloom early, whereas those of the Luberon and the Alpine foothills retain their purple hues a little longer.
To make the most of the experience, plan your visits for sunrise or late afternoon, when the light is softer.
It’s a paradise for amateur photographers!

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LAVENDER FIELDS TO EXPLORE NEAR BEAUMIER’S PROVENCE HOTELS

The stunning landscapes of the lavender routes will draw you to the region’s most iconic sights. From the Valensole Plateau, one of the top destinations easily reachable from our hotels, you can enjoy endless lavender vistas. We recommend you get there as early as possible to catch those very first rays of sun as they caress row upon row of fragrant lavender - a magical sight!

As you come back down towards the Luberon, don’t miss the Abbey of Sénanque, a 12th century Cistercian gem nestled in the valley near Gordes. It’s a place of contemplation and reverence unlike any other.

Between Bonnieux, Lacoste, Gordes and Roussillon, there are lavender fields galore. As you drive through, open the windows and let yourself be enveloped in the heady perfume of these fragrant fields.

Towards Cavaillon, the Lavender Museum in Coustellet explores the world of this emblematic plant in Provence. You will learn about lavender harvesting and essential oil distillation techniques, and how lavender’s use has evolved through the ages.

We recommend a visit to a distillery so that you can watch this time-honoured craft still practiced today.

Last but not least, don’t miss the Fêtes de la Lavande, a festival held on the third Sunday of July in Valensole and on the 15th of August in Sault, when these villages come alive in celebration of Provence’s “blue gold”.
